Always connect the positive cable first, followed by the ground cable. In manufacturing or workshop settings, torque specifications must be followed to guarantee safety and performance.

The correct size depends on current draw and cable run length. Typically, OEMs specify 25mm² to 70mm² copper battery cables for heavy-duty automotive applications.

Replacement should involve like-for-like specification cables that meet OEM standards. Always ensure cables are crimped or terminated using the correct lugs and tooling for long-term reliability.

The ground cable links the negative terminal to the vehicle chassis, ensuring a stable return path for all electrical circuits. High-quality grounding is critical for reliable system performance.

Extensions should only be made with cables of equal or greater cross-sectional area, joined with approved crimp connectors and protective sleeving to maintain current capacity.

The negative (ground) cable should always be disconnected first to avoid the risk of short circuits during servicing or assembly.

Use correctly sized lugs and torque them securely. For OEMs, pre-manufactured harnesses and battery leads are recommended to meet durability and safety standards.
